It’s been a while since I’ve posted. I could make up a TON of excuses why I haven’t. One, being life. I haven’t touched on this yet but as many of you know I have a second love of my life and she greets me at the door with a wagging tale. She’s fluffy and very much a hot mess like her mama. Her name is LOLA. Last year our Christmas started out well….shitty. We started off the month of December (my favorite time of the year) with the big “oh hey Haley… you have a terminal illness called CANCER”(huge FU to the universe for that bomb being dropped)! The first few days I could barely get out of bed. I think there are a certain amount of tears you are allocated per devastation and I used them all up that first week of finding out I was sick. Well my sweet (fiancé) at the time decided the perfect Christmas present would be to get me a puppy! I wanted a Maltipom (mostly because they look like a hot mess (like me) and are so adorably cute. Christmas day came and being a MAN (ladies you all know what i’m talking about) I was expecting to open a box with an adorably cute fur baby in it…..Instead I got a stocking with dog toys and
NO PUPPY (Sigh!) I love my husband, but man that was let down number two of December 2015! Weeks later we searched for a puppy but none of them spoke to me. FINALLY my mother in law found one on Craigslist..(yes, sketch) My husband and I reluctantly agreed to meet this man..at a sketch Taco Bell in Houston…That’s where I found the second love of my life! Grieving everything that I was dealing with at the time (especially the loss of being able to bear my own children). My husband thought having something for me to take care of would be good. As soon as the man pulled this little fluff ball out of the cardboard box she came up into my arms and laid down on me like a baby! Since then, she has been my wakeup call every morning, one of my goodnight kisses each night and never leaves my side. My husband has this marriage thing DOWN! This is exactly what I needed to get me out of bed each day and try to carry on with my life, especially when the hubs is at work. She is more than a puppy to me but she has been OUR little love (AKA CANCER PUPPY) I thank GOD every single day for the blessings I do have and she is definitely one of them. My sweet Lola Bug turned 1 this week!!
